FAQ Screen Protector - Frequently Asked Questions & Answers (Display Film, Flexible Glass, Tempered Glass, Anti-Reflective Film, Hybrid Glass)

Screen protection is not screen protection: depending on the material, thickness, and processing, there are Display films (PET/TPU), flexible glass (hybrid/flex glass) as well Tempered glass/Armor glass screen protectors. To help you make the right decision quickly, we've compiled the most important questions about Handy Screen Protector, Tablet screen protector and Screen protector clearly compiled as an FAQ.

Frequently asked questions and their answers

Adhesion / Adhesive Strength Neoxum Display Protection

Adhesive forces on surfaces

Neoxum display protection films and our OnScreen ® hybrid glass adhere purely through physical adhesion, meaning the films attach to the display using a kind of “suction cup at the nanometer level” without any use of glues or adhesives. When removing Neoxum display protection films or hybrid glass from the display, no residues remain on the display.

Physical Chemical Forces

More specifically, several physicochemical forces play a role. Adhesion is a fundamental phenomenon in the molecular realm, arising from polar interactions at interfaces, in our case, the interface between the display surface and the silicone adhesive layer of the Neoxum display film, or. OnScreen ® Hybrid glass, so-called Van der Waals bonds between molecules of the display surface and molecules of the adhesive layer (the very thin silicone adhesive layer). The decisive factor in adhesion is the close proximity of the two surfaces. The silicone adhesive layer from Neoxum screen protectors, or surface protection, is designed in such a way that our display films, as well as our hybrid glass, adhere very well to many smooth materials, such as plastics, metals, and glass. The adhesive film and the hybrid glass can be removed without residue from all material types.

Layer structure hybrid glass

Why is that?

Standard, simple adhesive films generally have an adhesive layer made of acrylate adhesive or modified acrylate. This adhesive layer forms significantly stronger physical bonds, which are much stronger than the adhesion forces of adhesive films. This type of acrylate adhesive film can usually NOT remove from displays after a few weeks or months of use without leaving any residue. Residues remain on the display after removing such adhesive films.

Not so with Neoxum display films and OnScreen® hybrid glass, which can be removed again without leaving any residue!
